Customer name, signature and date, so you have a clear yes before you start.

Tips for a quote that gets accepted

  • Call it a quote, not an estimate, if the price is fixed — customers trust a firm figure.
  • Only add VAT if you are VAT registered, and show your VAT number when you do.
  • Say how long the price is valid for, so a slow yes does not lock you into old material prices.
  • Ask for a deposit to book the start date — it filters out time-wasters.
  • List exclusions plainly. It is easier to agree extras before the job than argue after.
